Important Issues

As election day gets closer, and since this is the first election that I am able to vote, I have lately been giving more thought to the types of issues that are important to me in this upcoming election.
One of the issues is obviously our nations economy. We are in a recession right now, and gas prices have sky-rocketed over the last couple of years and it seems as though everything has become more expensive. Over the next couple of months, I will be paying close attention to which candidates I think have better solutions to our economy which needs change desperately. When listening to Barack O'bama speak, a lot of his ideas sound similar to communism, which is scary. This is not what we need. I do not agree with things such as universal health care, affirmative action, or increase in taxes to fix these types of problems.
Another important issue to me is security. I believe that given our nation's circumstance, war is necessary right now, and we need to support our troops.

i agree with you about the war, in that we do need to be supporting our troops and never say they should not be over there, because they are giving their lives for us. I do hope that we can soon pull out for their sakes, but not before the job is complete. The only thing I would say to be careful about is that maybe we should have universal healthcare. Canada has it (I believe) and it has to be kind of nice to not have to worry about the government or medical companies always trying to make money off of people with all of these new vaccines and medications for silly disorders such as "restless foot syndrome". If they weren't in such need or greed of money because no matter what we would be able to get the healthcare we need, the service we receive may actually improve.

I agree that we don't want universal health care, it's not what it seems. If your sick and want to see a doctor you have to get on a list and wait until your able to be seen, besides what's the incentive to work if health care is free and handouts are given out like crazy. The model that Obama presents is more socialist than communist and a lot of his ideas are used in western Europe.
