My name is Ashley K. Wilkins, I am from College Station, Texas. I am currently a junior at TCU and I am pursuing a degree in advertising/public relations along with a minor in business.
While I chose this course because it is required, I also hope to gain better argumentative writing skills that will help prepare me for a career in advertising since elements such as persuasion and arguing are an essential part of the advertising and public relations industry.
I think for the most part I am a fairly good writer. I have taken courses such as Media Writing and Editing I and II which have helped to improve my grammar and spelling. I have always enjoyed writing classes and I enjoy creative writing the most.
To be honest, I hate politics. I feel like arguing politics is a lose-lose situation. While I always vote Republican and consider myself conservative, I try to avoid political confrontations and debates at all costs.
When I began writing this "introductory letter," I chose a bold font and red letters because red is a color that grabs the attention of the eye and the bold font makes the letters stand out more. I did this to make this blog more interesting to the reader. The argument that my blog makes is that part of this assignment of this blog was to express myself and it almost demands that people read it. Therefore, it argues that each person deserves the readers attention when they are expressing their thoughts or opinions or simply something about themselves.
I have read the syllabus and understand the requirements for this course.

Hi Ashley!
I too am excited to learn more argumentative writing skills. Most of the writing I have done in the past has mostly been informational, besides the fact that everything is an argument. I also consider myself conservative, but do not like to debate about politics because everyone has so many different views that are difficult to change. It is not something that normally interests me, but maybe this class will change that.
hey Ashley, I use to live in bryan! I am also very conservitive but i think college is swaying me toward the moderate range. I agree there are to things that you never discuss with friends and those are politics and religion because no matter what you will not agree on everything and someone will always be offended
